Compression Moulding
For hot pressing, we have presses equipped with the latest control systems, active parallelism, clamping forces of 1,600 to 10,000 kN and maximum table sizes of up to 2,700 x 1,500 mm.
They offer all the prerequisites for exact process control and short cycle times for the production of dimensionally accurate small and large parts of complex geometry.
The moulds, made of high-quality steel, are heated to approx. 150°C and equipped with SMC, which is precisely defined in weight and cut. After the closure of the press, the material becomes liquid under the pressure and high temperature applied to it and distributes itself smoothly in the mould. The polymerization that then starts cross-links the material and hardens in its final form.

The hot-pressing process is preferably used for flat components made of SMC and is particularly suitable for small to medium-sized series. In addition to SMC, BMC moulding compounds can also be processed in individual cases.
By means of inserts, local reinforcements and coatings, components can be additionally equipped with special functionalities.
